How do you recommend propping up the trailer for installation?
A few suggestions we have for propping up your trailer are using your existing jack, a stabilizer block, jack stands, or wood blocks. You will need at least 16-18” of height to properly install the JX.
Do I need to grease the gears before use?
No, the JX will come already lubricated. We recommend greasing the internal acme rod every 90 days via the grease zerk/fitting near the drive shaft. General purpose grease can also be applied periodically directly to the miter gears of the unit by removing the gearbox cap as needed.
What is the load capacity of the 7KJX?
Static Load: 7,000 lbs
Lift (Manual crank): 1,800
Lift(Using power drill with adapter): 900
What is the recommended drill torque setting?
We recommend keeping the torque setting as low as possible while still lifting the trailer. A heavier load will require a higher torque setting. Regardless of drill setting, the drill must be slowly engaged as opposed to suddenly pulling the drill trigger.
Does the JX come with a caster wheel?
We do not currently sell a castor wheel that is compatible with the JX 7K.
Does the JX come with bolts for installation?
Mounting bracket bolts are provided for installation on trailer tongues up to 3.75’’ thickness. The bolts can be replaced with longer versions if necessary.
How much does the JX weigh?
The unit weighs in at 27.5 lbs
Can the JX be submerged in water?
It is recommended to avoid submerging the unit as this may erode lubricants on the internal mechanisms. If the unit is exposed to salt water, it is advised to rinse the unit in fresh water.
Can the JX be stored outdoors?
Yes, the JX has three layers of weather protection and can be stored outdoors with your trailer.
What kind of drill should I use with the JX?
Any 20-24V compact non-impact drill can be used with the Trailer Valet Drill Attachment. We recommend higher voltage drills as they can handle heavier loads with ease.
Is there a standard socket that can be used as an electric drill attachment?
We do not recommend using electric drill attachments other than the one designed specifically for the Trailer Valet; our attachment employs a unique design to ensure a snug fit onto the driveshaft. Use of a standard socket may cause it to shatter the socket and damage the driveshaft.
