What dimensions can the RVR5 handle?
The RVR5 can handle any sized trailer provided it meets the 5,500 lb weight capacity of this model. We recommend inviting a second person to guide your trailer from the opposite end, especially in tight spaces, as turning requirements can vary widely according to the trailer’s dimensions.
Will the RVR5 work on my double-axle trailer?
Yes, as long as your trailer weight distribution is properly shifted toward the front of the trailer and the total trailer weight does not exceed 5,500 lbs.
What vehicle types does the RVR5 support?
The RVR5 supports recreational vehicles (RVs), boats, and other similarly sized towable vehicles within its weight capacity.
What weight will the RVR5 support?
The RVR5 (TVRVR5) is rated to support trailers up to 5,500 lbs.
What are the speed options for the RVR5 Rapid Speed Series?
The RVR5 offers two operating speeds for increased efficiency and control.
Speed (Unloaded): Approx. 23 ft/min (normal speed) / Approx. 46 ft/min (fast speed)*
Speed (Loaded): Approx. 20 ft/min (normal speed) / Approx. 39 ft/min (fast speed)*
*Actual speed may vary depending on trailer weight, terrain, and surface conditions.
Will the RVR5 work on inclines?
The RVR5 can handle slopes depending on trailer weight, tongue weight, surface type, and weight distribution. If unsure, send our support team a clear photo of your surface (including slope angle) along with your trailer specifications for a recommendation.
My trailer uses a standard A-Frame hitch assembly with a battery, winch, and propane tank. What do you recommend?
If hitch tongue space is limited, the RVR attaches to your trailer frame rather than the coupler, making it suitable for trailers with mounted accessories.
Is the RVR5 motorized?
Yes. The RVR5 is fully motorized and powered by a lithium-ion battery. It is operated via remote control for precise trailer positioning.
How do I turn on and operate the RVR5?
Press the Start/Stop button on the front of the unit to power on the RVR5.
Turn on the remote by pressing the Forward (↑) button once.
Use the arrow buttons to move forward, backward, and turn left or right.
The Rabbit button activates fast speed mode.
What is the charging time for the RVR5 battery?
The initial charge when first received should be overnight (approximately 12 hours). After the initial charge, the battery typically recharges in about 1 hour.
How long does the battery last?
The lithium-ion battery provides approximately 30–45 minutes of continuous use. Runtime will vary depending on trailer weight and terrain.
Can the RVR5 remain attached to the trailer while towing?
No. The RVR5 must be removed before transporting the trailer. Only the 5X model can be placed into a stow position for travel.
What happens if I lose control of the trailer?
The RVR5 features an integrated brake that automatically engages when the motor stops. The brake performs best on flat surfaces. On slopes, braking performance depends on trailer weight and incline, and the unit may not fully stop the trailer until level ground is reached.
Will the RVR5 work on dirt, gravel, or grass?
The RVR5 works on packed, uneven terrain. It is not recommended for sandy, muddy, rocky, or severely loose surfaces. If unsure, send a clear photo of your surface along with trailer specifications to our support team for evaluation.
Can the RVR5 be submerged in water?
No. Submerging the RVR5 in fresh or salt water will damage its internal electronics.
How do I properly maintain my RVR5?
Perform maintenance at least every 3 months. Follow the manual or our maintenance videos for proper greasing of chains and bushings. Wipe the unit clean after each use and avoid exposure to the elements. Do not rely solely on the RVR5 to keep your trailer raised. When possible, remove and store the unit in a cool, dry place.
The treads are slipping and not gaining traction. What should I do?
This may occur if there is insufficient tongue weight and excess weight toward the rear of the trailer. Shift more weight forward or clear debris from the surface to improve traction.
