Within your RV, there is a lot of action going on all the time. Because of all the activities that are happening inside your RV, especially taking a hot shower and cooking, the vapor inside increases and might cause unwanted issues like condensation on the windows and walls of your RV. Condensation can be very uncomfortable to deal with and will lower the quality of life which is why an RV dehumidifier is an excellent product to own. It is an essential item for your RV especially in the wintertime when condensation may freeze and cause damage.

What Makes a Great RV Dehumidifier

Before you find the right RV dehumidifier for your RV, there are certain complexities and variables you must take into consideration. The most important aspect you have to consider is the size of the space you need to dehumidify. Knowing the exact cubic feet of your RV will help you narrow the range of products on the market. Another aspect that you have to decide on is to get a desiccant or refrigerant dehumidifier. Desiccant dehumidifiers have a water-soaking substance in them which sucks the moisture from the air without a power source while refrigerant dehumidifiers have a coil cool method that sucks up the moisture and condensation into a reservoir.

Eva Dry

Eva-dry EDV-1100

The Eva-dry EDV-1100 Electric Petite Dehumidifier is perfect if you want to cover 1100 cubic feet. It’s a small RV dehumidifier that does an excellent job. This dehumidifier has user-friendly controls and a couple of great features such as an automatic shut-off feature and low-noise mode. One important feature that this dehumidifier has is a transparent water tank which allows you to see if it needs cleaning. The one thing to note about this product is that it is a bit expensive. The price ranges from $54 and above. In some cases the low-noise mode becomes louder although it depends on how often you use it.

Eva-dry E-333

The Eva-dry E-333 Renewable Mini Dehumidifier is an item that uses silica gel technology that doesn’t need a power source to absorb the excess moisture. It’s pretty small so it only covers 333 cubic feet and it needs maintenance every month. The maintenance is quick and easy. All you need to do is plug it in for about 10 hours and it’s ready to be used again. Because it’s small, it’s perfect for small spaces like your bathroom. The price of this dehumidifier is also affordable but you will need a few to cover your entire RV and regulate the humidity levels in your entire rig. This item would be perfect for smaller RV’s and trailers such as teardrop trailers

Pro Breeze

Pro Breeze Electric Mini Dehumidifier

This product has quite an impressive range of 1200 cubic feet. It’s also easily portable because it is made of lightweight materials so you can move it from place to place whenever you need to. The Pro Breeze has a feature that alerts you when the tank is full so you can empty it on time. The automatic shut off feature will stop it from working when it is full. It is a very decent RV dehumidifier that works on low noise levels. The only thing to note about this model is that it will stop working if the temperature falls below 41F.

Pro Breeze PB-03-US

Pro Breeze is a great manufacturer of dehumidifiers. The Pro Breeze PB-03-US Electric mini dehumidifier has a tank that can collect 52 ounces of water. It can collect more water than most dehumidifiers and you won’t have to constantly empty the tank. This model is also very quiet and great at absorbing moisture in your RV. With an amazing coverage of 2200 cubic feet, it’s one of the highest range dehumidifiers on the market. This Pro Breeze model also can’t withstand temperatures below 41F.

Kedsum

Kedsum is an RV dehumidifier that offers the customers a few options. You can choose to get a larger tank of 1500ml or go with a smaller one of 500ml. It would depend on the size of your RV and the cubic feet you need to cover. If you need to cover up to 2200 cubic feet, the 1500ml is perfect while the other options are good for around 1200 cubic feet. Another great thing about this product is that it is CE and FCC safety approved which ensures that the product is going to work perfectly without malfunctioning. The only downside reported for this product is that it doesn’t have a huge life span and wears down with time.

hOmeLabs

The hOmeLabs Small Dehumidifier is a very quiet product that can cover up to 1200 square feet. Considering the small size of this product, it covers quite a lot of space. It’s excellent for RV’s that are smaller. It automatically shuts off when the tank is full and it has a LED light that will notify you to empty the tank. The best feature of this RV dehumidifier is the adapter that comes with it. It’s ETL-certified which means that your dehumidifier won’t overheat. The power consumption is also regulated by this adapter which is another bonus. The thing to note on this product is that sometimes it takes only a couple of months for this product to stop working at maximum capacity.

Ivation

The Ivation Powerful Mid-Size Thermo-Electric Dehumidifier is larger than the ones we already listed above which means it can cover a larger area. It is a lightweight product that is very energy-efficient. Because of the larger size of this product, it can also be used in other settings to dehumidify the water vapor in the air. You could also use it in your home or basement if you need to deal with humidity issues. This model has an automatic shut off when it’s full and the downside is that it’s very expensive. There are some reports that it leaves an odor when it’s dehumidifying the air which might be an issue as well.

Shopping for an RV dehumidifier can be a daunting task but getting one is paramount for increasing the quality of life when you are on a trip. It is also crucial to keep mold and mildew from forming inside your RV or boat complicating your life even further. However, when you find the right one that can cover the entire space you will be able to enjoy a stress-free trip with clean air that will keep you relaxed and comfortable at all times.
