The chain is made to have some slack to the unit because of the weight being tolled.  When the weight is added on the unit, the chain will tighten over the sprocket. Chains do tend to stretch out over time due to the excessive use and weight. We have noticed this problem on our more recent models and we are currently making improvements to fix it.
