The Oregon Coast
This stretch is over 360 miles and well worth every single one. The Oregon Coast flows from the Columbia River to the California border and is full of beautiful scenery, open road, and wildlife. Visit hot spots like Cannon Beach, Astoria (Remember Goonies?!), Fort Stevens, and take sunset photos of Route 101. There are many RV-friendly State Parks along the coastline so you can experience each part of this beautiful evergreen coast.
The Gulf Coast
The Gulf Coast doesn’t get the credit it deserves as a top place to travel in an RV, or in anything for that matter! The Gulf Coast is beach vacationing at its best. There are State Parks to visit all while being a short distance away from white sand beaches and warm water. You can choose the state coast you’d like to see from Texas to Mississippi to Louisiana to Florida, or cruise the whole coast. Some highlights are Galveston Island State Park in TX and Pensacola Beach in FL.
Zion National Park

You can visit the Zion Human History Museum, walk the Zion and Kolob canyons, or even pop down to the Grand Canyon, or Bryce Canyon National Park.
Las Vegas, NV
If you want to break up your nature destinations, Las Vegas is an RV-friendly destination that often gets overlooked. Not only is it an entertainment go-to, but it also has its own natural attractions, including Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, and Lake Mead. There are many campgrounds around Vegas, so you can feel at home and see the wonders of the architecture and casinos.
Yosemite National Park
When we’re talking about top places to travel in an RV, Yosemite National Park must not be missed. The sites are amazing at Yosemite National Park, like Half Dome, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, and Glacier Point. Yosemite has 800 miles of trails from beginner to advanced, and there are beautiful beaches, lakes, mountains, and waterfalls. But make sure to make a reservation between the months of April and September because this is a popular spot.
Great Smoky Mountains
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is over 800 square miles and can be accessed through Gatlinburg, TN. Before you hit the park, you can visit the attractions near Gatlinburg like Ripley’s Aquarium, Dolly Parton’s Amusement park (Dollywood), and the Ober Gatlinburg ski area. The park itself is full of RV options around hiking trails and beautiful views.
The California Central Coast
The coast of central California has so much to offer of scenic views no matter which route you take, Santa Barbara to Monterey or San Francisco to Los Angeles. Cruise through surf towns, Big Sur, wine tasting in Paso Robles, fishing villages, and even Hearst Castle. The sites are amazing and the seafood is a must. To find an RV resort, you’ll have to get off the 101 or the 1 and if you stop in Paso Robles, there are over 200 wineries around the area.
