Coupling Plate

The plate keeps the locking nut of the XL flush with the coupler, which in turn reduces the possibility of damage on the coupler should the XL pivot due to excess horizontal force. Install the plate by placing it under the ball before threading the ball into the cradle on the XL. The lip of the plate must face the back of the coupler.

This coupling plate comes included with your Trailer Valet XL purchase.

For those who have the XL, or RVR, the coupling plate is placed underneath the ball to keep locking nut of the unit flush with the coupler for added protection. Rugged steel construction with zinc-nickel plating resists rust and corrosion

"Only suggestion would be to have phone staff to be able to look up orders. My order was shipped in two segments so I called when I seen only one item came in instead of two. I could not get response to why I received part of my order and another email claiming my order had shipped after receiving partial. I had to allow common sense to kick in and merely wait it out cause customer service didn’t not have an explanation"

Best $10 I could have spent

"I upgraded my trailer and the tongue weight went from 600lbs to 950 lbs. My trailer valet looked like it was struggling, and the unit was moving and leaning forward and backward during use. I thought I was going to have to buy something beefier. They suggested I buy the $10 piece of metal and IT WORKS. The valet stays straight solid and true. Works like new."

Works good … needs a shim version

"This plate came with my recently purchased XL model. It definitely snugs the ball into the couple r nice and tight. However due to the angled lower surface of my Jayco 24RBS coupler the XL ball and shaft are still not vertical. What this means is that when turning the trailer tongue one wheel of the XL comes off the ground. Looks like an excessive torque type force on the whole system. It would seem there needs to be a shim to make up this angle of the coupler so that both wheels are sharing the load while turning the XL. The XL is a beast but I do have this concern."

Much more usable now

"This is what should've been included with the trailer valet from the beginning. the original smaller plate barely did anything and I always noticed it putting awkward forces on my trailers receivers. This thing is sooo much better and i generally dont even need to use the spanner wrench, hand tight on the tightening ring gets it snug enough and this keeps things from bending in awkward ways. I planned on making a plate just like this but fortunately you provided it for me. The plate is a bit spendy for something that should've been inlcuded in everyones original kit. but its well worth it"

Updated plate makes huge diff.

"I purchased a Valerie as a used product. FaceTime I usually function quite well but when I tried to turn on a mercury slope with a tandem axle trailer yet had difficulty staying vertical. I ordered a replacement plate because the one that came as it was bent slightly. The new plate is thicker and completely eliminated the problem with vertical issue on the incline."
